Introduction. Edible Bird's Nest (EBN) is a secretion created by swiftlets. Erodramus (echolocating swiftlets) and Collocalia (non-echolocating swiftlets) are among the two genera of swiftlets known to produce valuable EBN (Ma and Liu, 2012).Swiftlets are insectivorous birds, predominantly inhabited in South East Asia (SEA) and southern part of China (Aswir and Wan, 2010).. Edible birds' nests (EBNs) are created by some swiftlet species - the white-nest swiftlet (Aerodramus fuciphagus) and the black-nest swiftlet (Aerodramus maximus) - and harvested by farmers for home consumption, as food and medicine, in Southeast Asia (Chua and Zukefli 2016; Hao et al. 2015).The nests are produced in Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, and China.
