LUDWIG VAN BEETHOVEN The Symphonies. Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century, Frans Brüggen

Once the world's most famous recorder player, today Frans Brüggen is considered among the foremost experts in the performance of eighteenth century music. He was born in Amsterdam and studied.. Not so the Orchestra of the 18th Century. It's true that the collective sound may seem wispy at first to ears accustomed to Bach a la Berlin Philharmonic, or Mormon Tabernacle Handel.

THE MOZART RECORDINGS. Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century, Frans Brüggen

In 1981, Frans Brüggen - in his time the world's most famous recorder player - founded the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century (along with Lucy van Dael and a group of friends), which consists today of some fifty-five members from 20 different countries. Three (or often more) times a year the orchestra assembles to go on tour.. The Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century ( Dutch: Orkest van de Achttiende Eeuw) is a Dutch early music orchestra. Frans Brüggen and Lucy van Dael co-founded the orchestra in 1981. [1] Sieuwert Verster became financial manager in 1984. Although he did not have a formal title with the orchestra, Brüggen served as the de facto principal.
