Remove the covers from the LBs and push a fish tape through the conduit. Feed the fish tape through the conduit. Loop the wires through the fish tape and wrap them with electrical tape. Also wrap the hook on the fish tape so it can't snag. Use stranded electrical wire, not solid wire. Family Handyman. Step 11.. Country. 14 Oct 2021. #4. Make a pattress plate thick enough to bring the conduit upwards behind the lamp. Upwards to prevent water getting behind the pattress. This shows a round pattress, for neatness the pattress could be shaped to match the rear of the lamp. Sponsored Links.

Notch the Post. Cut a 4-inch tall x 1/2-inch deep notch in the 4×4 x 60-inch post. Nail two sides and a 1-1/2 x 2-inch nailer to the post as shown. With a jigsaw, cut the hole for the round electrical box in the second 1×8 and nail it to the post assembly. Step 9.. Layout the pipe run adjacent to the trench. Make sure you have a "snake" or fish tape long enough to go from end to end. You may also thread a "pull string" through each pipe section as you go, simplifying the later wire-pulling task. Glue or fasten the pipe together with approved fittings and adhesives.
